Merton Grove is a back way to cut between Christ Church Meadow and Merton Street, a way through from one ‘kind’ of Oxford to another – from the open fields of Christ Church Meadow to ancient, cobbled Merton Street, which is home to Merton College itself, Corpus Christi, the back gate of Christ Church and, round the corner, Oriel College.
