Punts at Magdalen Bridge, Oxford

Buy a framed print of Martin Anderson’s photograph of moored University of Oxford Punts. Punting is one of the few pastimes enjoyed by students, visitors and locals alike – with varying degrees of success! These flat, open boats are propelled and steered by someone standing in the stern using a pole, which they push on the riverbed and then use as a tiller to guide the boat along. It is a peaceful way to see the city and in skilled hands can be very relaxing. However, it can be tricky to master and poles have been known to get stuck in the thick mud of the River Cherwell and left behind by the hapless crew!
