The Radcliffe Camera, Oxford at Sunset
£39.00
Buy a framed print of Darrell Godliman’s photograph of the beautifully mellow tones of the stonework of the Radcliffe Camera glowing intensely at sunset. Its style is Palladian, designed by noted 18th century Architect James Gibbs. The stone is of local origin: some from the Oxford suburb of Headington, some from Burford, a quintessential Cotswold town 20 miles from Oxford. The main ‘stage’ of the building, shown here, consists of Corinthian columns which support the structure above. The large windows let light flood in to illuminate the students’ studies.
