Buy a framed print of Martin Anderson’s photograph of the iconic British Red Telephone Box taken outside St Giles College, Oxford. The Red Phone Box is recognised the world over as symbolic of Britain has a nice Oxford connection. It was designed by the Architect Giles Gilbert Scott (1880–1960) whose other work includes the New Bodleian Library, just round the corner in Broad Street. Scott won the competition to redesign the original type of phone box in 1924; his design was refined over the years until a completely new style was adopted in the late 1960s. Scott’s other architectural work includes projects as diverse as Liverpool Anglican Cathedral, Battersea Power Station and the House of Commons.
