Cherwell Boathouse is the start of may a leisurely journey by punt upstream or downstream on the River Cherwell, Oxford’s “other” river. The Cherwell meanders its charming way past colleges and playing fields, giving views otherwise unseen from the centre of Oxford. Upstream is the Victoria Arms, where punters moor for a drink in the riverside garden; downstream are the University Parks and the backwaters which eventually lead to Magdalen Bridge and the Thames.
